Passage from Wells to Shotley via Lowestoft.

Arrived safe in Shotley after a gloriously sunny sail from Lowestoft.  We sadly said goodbye to Anthea and John on Saturday morning and they caught the train back to Lincoln.  Whilst in Lowestoft we visited Norwich which is a lovely train ride through the Broadlands along the river Waverley.  The Castle Museum was a must for Chris and I managed to find an outdoor shop that sold ascenders for going up the mast.  One of our steaming lights on the mast wasn't working and needed sorting.  Found a lovely cafe in the park where we had lunch on Sunday before heading for Shotley.  The cafe looked out over the park and the sun was shining for a change.  Monday arrived and we set off at a very civilised 0900h making a most enjoyable cruise round to Shotley where we arrived at 1500h.  Yesterday (Tuesday) we went to the chandlers at Fox's Marina.  This is a very big shop for boat stuff and I have bought a bought a bosun's chair, two light bulbs and two log books.  One log book is for children to use and adults to read.  Have put it away for when Elliot and Morgan hopefully join us. We went for dinner at the Bristol Arms and Chris ordered a fish pasta and I had fish and chips.  We have also done the laundry yesterday or rather Chris did.  Most of it dried in the drier but those bits that didn't quite dry are festooned around inside the boat.  The weather has changed and it is once again cool and cloudy. We seem to be across the tides and the weather at the moment so I think we will stay here for a few more days.  I would like to get round to Ramsgate soon and make Dover before we head back for the wedding.  I think Dover will be a safe place for the boat whilst we are away.  Will try and download some more pictures before signing off.
